Lower back pain when I try to do the toe touch stretch?

Everytime I try to do this stretch, my lower back hurts. It doesn’t hurt any other time. When either of my legs are fully extended, I feel the pain, but when they are bent, I can bend as low as normal.
It’s only in my lower back. I didn’t do anything stressful to my back before the pain started happening. I just hadn’t done a toe touch in a while and tried to do one, and the bain came. It’s medium pain, but it stops me from doing the stretch past my knees.

Is the pain centralized or does it run into your butt or down your leg??? Is the pain sharp or dull?? Lots could be wrong do you remember when you first noticed the pain did you do something to cause this pain??

OK dude this is what you do. Use a tennis ball because it has some give to it. Stay off the center of the spine!!! Work on the sides try to put the ball where the pain is using either a wall or the floor. Strum over up and down over the pain. Move to the next sore spot perform the same thing. When you have hit all the sore spots follow it up with some ice. I tell most of my patient a bag of frozen corn or peas because it conforms to the curves on your body. When you can start stretching: Key stretches to hit Hamstrings and half kneeling hip flexor stretches. You can review them on web md. If pain continues get to the doctor. Good luck bro!!!!
